Volunteers have been the backbone of the organization since the beginning. Today the organization and the natural area need volunteers more than ever to reach our full potential.
The Grass River Natural Area has a rich history of more than 51 years. Its 1,492 acres were assembled with the goal of protecting them and making them an educational resource.

Grass River Natural Area, Inc. works closely with Antrim County in managing the natural area and protecting contiguous property when appropriate.
A volunteer board of directors is responsible for oversight. A full-time Executive Director manages a staff of 8 including an Education Director, Conservation and Education Specialist, Office Manger/Bookkeeper, Communications Coordinator, a Land and Facilities Steward, and three Naturalists.
