Volunteers have been the backbone of the organization since the beginning. Today the organization and the natural area need volunteers more than ever to reach our full potential.
The Grass River Natural Area has a rich history of more than 40 years. Its 1492 acres were assembled with the goal of protecting them and making them an educational resource.

Grass River Natural Area, Inc. works closely with Antrim County in managing the natural area and protecting contiguous property when appropriate.
A volunteer board of directors is responsible for oversight. A full-time executive director manages a staff including an education director, five naturalists, an office manager, and maintenance personnel.
