Hands-on activities will be set up inside and out for all ages, including the Subaru Leave No Trace Traveling Trainers!
This walk will begin 1pm after the activities and will be on foot trails at Grass River Natural Area. All ages and abilities welcome. The trails go over some uneven terrain and board walks. Some areas may be wet. The walk is approximately 5 kilometers, or 3.1 miles. The average person walking at about 3 miles per hour, can complete this walk in just over 1 hour. Walkers that choose to take occasional breaks should plan to complete the walk in 1.5 to 2 hours. There will be a few turn back spots if you decide to not do the entire walk.
This 5k is not a race. The Earth Walk is meant to be an enjoyable and casual stroll highlighting a variety of Grass River Trails and habitats. The group will gather at the Grass River Center. There will be activities and an introduction to honor earth day, and the group will walk together at 1pm, being led by GRNA staff and volunteers. The walk will end back at the Grass River Center.
